Vegan Pear Crisp Recipe (9.29.12 - Day 48) Whole Fruit Pie, Cobbler, Crumble
When I think of fall, I think of a nice warm crisp. So, today we will be vegan-izing the pear crisp recipe from Paula Deen’s Southern Cooking Bible. As the cinnamon glides through the air, I can see the leaves changing and the temperature dropping. Bring it on Autumn.
Vegan Pear Crisp Recipe
2 Bosc Pears
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/8 cup raw sugar
1/2 cup oatmeal
1/2 cup sliced almonds
1 tablespoon coconut oil
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Cut the stem and bottom off the pear and core it.
Dice the pear into bite sized pieces, slice the bananas, and toss the fruit pieces in bowl with cinnamon and vanilla extract.
Pack the fruit into the baking dish that you would like to use.
In the mixing bowl, stir together the raw sugar, oatmeal, almonds, and coconut oil.
Spoon the dry mixture over the fruit and press tight.
Place the baking dish on top of a baking sheet. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the pear crisp is golden brown, bubbly and fragrant.
